The 5 Best Ceiling Fans

A ceiling fan is usually a necessary thing in a working cabinet, office room or a bedroom, especially if the climate makes ventilation a desired thing. Say you live in a warm climate. In that case you will need to stir the air in the room, because otherwise it will get too hot and stuffy inside. Usually a person would open a window when that happens, but in many cases that is not enough, or is not possible because of insects. Therefore buying a fan like this is important. And in winter it will be no less useful – you can put it in reverse and it will stir up the warm air, making the entire room warmer.

However, many fans are subpar in quality and will not work as intended. A bad fan will be noisy and will disturb your sleep or work. Also a low-quality fan will be made from weak materials, so it runs the risk of breakage. Finally, some models have weak motors that fail at their job.

In order to help you avoid the low-performing models and pick a good fan right off, we have compiled a list of five best ceiling fans. All have good reviews from proven buyers and all have an adequate price.

This is a model with a renewed design and it is produced by a well-known brand. The overall design is sleek and stylish, so it will fit a ceiling in any room, independent of its general style. The model is also compact and is designed for a small or medium-sized office room. The materials are sturdy and the motor has a good power rating. The integrated LED light is an added bonus, which will give you both light and a fan.

The fans diameter is 44 inches. The style can be defined as modern. The integrated fixture can be used with a dimmer and comes with an 18-watt LED light. The device mounts flush, actually seamless. The motor has three speeds and can be run in reverse. The light is matte and the glass has an opal effect. The fan is recommended for a room size of up to 100 square feet.

The reverse mode is useful, because the fan can be used to cool in the summer and then be reversed to spread warm air in the winter.

The fan is only nine inches from the ceiling, so it is good for low ceilings.

Pros:

  • Great LED light, also dimmable
  • Nice design and shape, overall stylish
  • Good for low ceilings

Cons:

  • Hums pretty loudly, especially on top speed

The style of this large fan can be described as industrial. It is built for big rooms. The finishing is rustic – there is a warm wooden texture to the fan blades and the motor compartment is made in a bronze body. The wood coloring is chestnut for some blades and pine for others.

Three bulbs, all E26 size screw into the model, and they should be LED. They have a lifespan of 25000 hours and can be dimmed from 100 down to 20 percent. The bulbs have a unique look and are shipped with the model. The Edison bulbs work on LED and use only 7 watts each.

The motor is very quiet and can work in reverse. In the winter the motor is reversed and then it will pull warm air up and move it around the whole room. The motor has three speeds, so if you think your room does not need that much ventilation, you can just turn the fan down. The model can be mounted on multiple different mounts, including a downrod, which is shipped with the fan and has a length of 4 inches.

There is a remote control shipped with the fan, and it allows dimming of the lights, changing speeds and most importantly, voice control integration with Alexa.

Pros:

  • Remote control with Alexa capability
  • Powerful motor with five blades allows ventilation of large room
  • Shipped with attachment, remote and bulbs.

Cons:

  • Might be hard to install

This one is only 11 inches from the ceiling at its lowest point. It has a single cased light bulb. The light can dim down to 10 percent of its full power and is covered with frosted glass.   The bulb is E 26, and it produces 600 lumens.

The fan has 5 blades and the diameter of the fan is 52 inches. The blades are decorated – they have a beautiful wooden texture, made to look like Siberian Walnut. On the other side the blades are matte black.

The motor can be run in reverse, which allows the fan to cool the room in the summer and heat it up in the winter. The whole model is made from metal without the use of any plastic parts. This makes the fan much sturdier than most of its competitors.

The manufacturer gives a limited lifetime warranty with the product. The base comes with the blades, an LED bulb and instruction manual.

Pros:

  • Easy to install
  • Moves air around quickly and in big volumes, god for large rooms
  • Overall pretty design, fits well in any room

Cons:

  • The light could be brighter – that is what many people complain about

The fan has a unique shape with three curved blades. Beneath the wood-textured blades you will find a large warm LED light, which can be dimmed and which does not drain much energy. The model ships with an easy-to-use remote control, which allows the user to switch to three different speeds and also control the light’s dimming.

The motor compartment has a small switch that is used to enable the reverse. When the reverse is on, the motor will work to make the room warmer, not cooler. Even though the design looks unique and specific, it is actually going to fit most interiors, both modern and classic.

The fan is notable for its design, with hand-crafted acrylic plastic blades. This kind of plastic is very tough and durable, so you may be sure the fan is going to last awhile. It is also easy to wipe off and clean. The device ships with a downrod, with a length of 6 inches. Other downrods are compatible with the model and can be bought separately.

Pros:

  • Excellent design, both unique and universally fitting
  • Works quietly and will not even wake a sleeping person
  • Powerful enough for a medium bedroom

Cons:

  • Expensive, but the look and quality are worth it

The motor is true to its name – it is very quiet when working and never really gets louder than a whisper. The motor, however is very powerful and the blades can get to a very high speed. The motor is able to work in reverse, in order to go into winter mode when it is more necessary to move the warm air around. There are five blades, and all are of a pure white color. There is no attached light on the fan, instead it is recommended to buy one separately. There are attachment points for a light, though.

The blade pitch is exactly 13 degrees, which is the needed angle to mix air the quickest. At the same time the angle minimizes sound. The modes are changed by applying force to a pullchain. The model uses a voltage of 120 volt and only uses 58 watts.

The diameter of the fan’s blades is 42 inches.

Pros:

  • Takes up very little space on the ceiling, very good for low ceilings
  • Simple installation and easy instruction
  • Very quiet, at night especially

Cons:

  • Comes without a light
